Agility Robotics to go public after $465M raise, aims to expand industrial humanoid use
Agility Robotics plans to debut its Digit 5 robot commercially next year and grow its customer base across industries.
Agility Robotics has cleared a shareholder vote and is expected to begin trading its common stock this Thursday, following a $2.5 billion merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, Manufacturing Dive reported.
The company raised $465 million to address debts ahead of going public and is positioning itself as a leading U.S. firm focused on industrial humanoid robots.
In September, Agility Robotics introduced Digit 5, described as the first cooperatively safe humanoid robot capable of working near people without safety cages, with commercial availability planned for next year.
Currently, the company has deployed its Digit 4 robots in manufacturing and warehouse settings and recently expanded partnerships with GXO Logistics and Agco for additional facility deployments and pilots.
Agility Robotics also has ongoing collaborations with Toyota and Schaeffler and is pursuing a commercial pipeline of over 30 prospective customers in sectors including manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, defense, logistics, and consumer products.
The CEO, Peggy Johnson, stated the company aims to reach 100 customers by the end of 2027 and is in early discussions about two defense sector deals, while also consulting on the U.S. Department of Defense's Project Meridian.
Johnson expressed confidence that humanoid robotics will play a defining role in the next industrial revolution.
