Chilly mornings and dry weather expected in Charlotte through next week
Charlotte area will see cool mornings, sunny afternoons, and no rain through next week, WBTV reports.
WBTV reported that the Charlotte region will experience a quiet and dry weather pattern lasting all week. High pressure from the St. Lawrence Valley is creating a cold air damming effect east of the mountains, leading to mostly clear skies and temperatures about 5 degrees below normal this weekend.
Saturday's temperatures will reach the upper 60s by afternoon with northeast winds near 10 mph and gusts up to 20 mph. Overnight lows are expected near 50 degrees in Charlotte, with patchy frost possible in mountain valleys. Sunday morning may bring some low clouds and valley fog, especially near the Blue Ridge Escarpment.
Temperatures will gradually rise early next week, with highs reaching the 70s by Monday and mid-70s by Tuesday. Another cold air wedge is expected Wednesday, briefly cooling temperatures before they climb above normal later in the week. The dry conditions will continue through the seven-day forecast, with rain possible only as November begins.
Residents are advised to dress in layers with jackets for mornings and lighter clothes in the afternoons. Those with sensitive plants in mountain areas should consider covering them due to frost risk. WBTV encourages viewers to use their weather app and streaming services for updates.
