FBI investigates incendiary device thrown at Atlanta ICE building
An apparent Molotov cocktail was thrown at the ICE headquarters in downtown Atlanta with no injuries or major damage reported.
The FBI is investigating after an apparent incendiary device was thrown at the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) building in downtown Atlanta on Tuesday night, according to WRDW and FOX 5 Atlanta.
The device, described as Molotov cocktail-style, was thrown at the ICE headquarters on Ted Turner Drive around 9:30 p.m. Atlanta police and FBI agents responded to the scene, blocking off the street while an evidence response team collected evidence.
No fire broke out, and there were no injuries or significant damage to the building, the FBI said. Law enforcement cleared the area around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, but no suspects have been identified or arrested, and no group has claimed responsibility.
The FBI continues to investigate the incident. Atlanta police deferred questions to federal authorities, and ICE had not immediately responded to requests for comment as of Tuesday night.
Video footage online showed crime scene tape and law enforcement presence outside the building during the investigation.
