The National Hurricane Center reported that Hurricane Trudy in the eastern Pacific has maximum sustained winds of 120 mph (105 knots) and a central pressure of 956 mb as of 6 AM CST Friday, October 16, 2026.

Trudy was located about 240 miles southwest of Acapulco, Mexico, moving northwest at 6 mph. The storm is forecast to approach the southwestern and west-central coast of Mexico this weekend.

A Hurricane Watch is in effect for the coast of Mexico north of Punta San Telmo to Cabo Corrientes, while a Tropical Storm Warning covers the coast from Manzanillo southward to Zihuatanejo. The watch indicates hurricane conditions are possible within 48 hours, and the warning means tropical storm conditions are expected within 36 hours.

The National Hurricane Center advises that additional watches or warnings may be issued later, and residents in southwestern and west-central Mexico should monitor updates from their national meteorological services.

Trudy's forecast track suggests it will approach and pass near the coast of southwestern and west-central Mexico on Saturday and Saturday night, moving north-northwest to northwest at a slightly faster speed in the coming days.
