Man fatally shot at Potrero Hill public housing complex in second 2026 incident

The San Francisco Police Department reported that a man was shot and killed Friday evening at the Potrero Hill Terrace and Annex public housing complex, located on the 1100 block of Wisconsin Street near Starr King Elementary School, according to Mission Local.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 8:38 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the man suffering from gunshot wounds, and despite efforts by officers and paramedics, he died at the scene.

This incident is the second fatal shooting this year at the Potrero Hill Terrace and Annex complex. In February, Cornelius Wigfall Jr. was shot and killed there, with a child also wounded in that earlier event.

The Potrero Hill Terrace and Annex is an approximately 600-unit hillside public housing complex undergoing redevelopment into a mixed-income residence. It remains one of the few public housing sites in San Francisco.

The investigation is ongoing, and the SFPD encourages anyone with information to contact them anonymously via phone or text tip lines.
