Inmate dies from intestinal ailments at Vista jail, autopsy finds

An autopsy revealed that an inmate who died at the Vista jail succumbed to intestinal ailments, authorities said.

KPBS reported that an inmate at the Vista jail died after jail staff and paramedics attempted to revive him without success. The inmate was pronounced dead at the scene, according to sheriff's Lt. Juan Marquez.

An autopsy later determined that the cause of death was related to intestinal ailments. No further details about the inmate's condition or circumstances leading to the death were provided.
