Milwaukee man sentenced to one year for Walgreens theft involving $11,000
Xavier Stewart received one year in prison and two years supervision for stealing $11,000 from Walgreens.
A Milwaukee man, Xavier Stewart, was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of extended supervision for his role in stealing an estimated $11,000 from a Walgreens store, according to fox6now.com.
Stewart pleaded guilty to three gun-related felonies, while other charges were dismissed. His sentencing occurred on October 9, 2026, before Milwaukee County Judge Susan Roth. A restitution hearing is scheduled for December.
The theft took place in March 2025 at a Walgreens near 76th and Mill. Stewart's brother, Zyren Stewart, had earlier pleaded guilty to related charges and was sentenced to six months in a community reintegration center and three years probation.
Prosecutors said Zyren Stewart initially reported being robbed at gunpoint by an unknown man who demanded access to the store safe. However, investigations revealed Zyren's unusual behavior and that he had planned the theft with his brother, including providing a code to hide in the bathroom.
Police linked the crime to Xavier Stewart through surveillance video and vehicle records. Weapons connected to both men were also found. The information was provided by the Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office and Wisconsin Circuit Court.
