Tree crushes car roof in Hollywood Smart & Final parking lot after rain

A tree fell onto a car parked outside the Smart & Final grocery store in Hollywood on Thursday afternoon, damaging the vehicle's roof, KTLA 5 reported. The incident occurred just hours after heavy rain affected the area.

CBS News Los Angeles reported the tree fell around 2 p.m. in the 900 block of Western Avenue. The car, a white Alfa Romeo Giulia, was unoccupied at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The Los Angeles Police Department received the call and coordinated with Street Services to remove the large tree from the car. It remains unclear if the vehicle belonged to a customer or an employee.

In addition to this incident, strong Santa Ana winds caused damage in other parts of Southern California, including downed trees at the San Clemente municipal golf course. The National Weather Service said the damage was caused by straight-line winds, not a tornado.
