Trump campaigns in Alaska amid mixed reactions from conservatives
President Trump held a rally in Wasilla supporting Republican candidates, but some conservatives question its impact.
The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning for the eastern Interior of Alaska, advising residents to prepare for heavy snow east of Fairbanks and the Upper Tanana Valley, according to KUAC.
President Trump held a rally in Wasilla last week to campaign for Republican candidates and to announce Bernadette Wilson as his pick for governor, KUAC reported.
However, some conservatives expressed doubts about whether Trump's rally helped Alaska Republican candidates seeking election, with Democratic governor candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins also skeptical that Trump's support will aid Wilson's chances, KUAC noted.
Early voting for the midterm elections began Monday across much of Alaska and will continue until November 3, KUAC added.
In other news, the Aleutian Island of Adak is set to receive $115 million from the Defense Department to prepare for potential military use, KUAC reported.
