Airbnb announced new guidelines to reduce the checkout chores guests are required to complete at rental properties. The changes aim to prevent guests from having to perform time-consuming tasks while still paying cleaning fees, according to fox5ny.com.

Starting November 20, hosts will be limited in what they can ask guests to do when leaving a property. Airbnb's policy now states that guests should not be asked to complete tasks that require significant effort or time, such as stripping beds, removing trash off-site, or washing dishes. These tasks should be handled by professional cleaners.

Hosts are also required to disclose all fees for amenities within the listing price at the time of booking. Additionally, all house rules and requests must be clearly provided in the listing and cannot be changed after a guest completes a booking.

These updated guidelines apply to all Airbnb properties worldwide, including those in San Jose and the surrounding Bay Area, as reported from San Jose by fox5ny.com.

The changes reflect Airbnb's efforts to improve guest experiences by setting clearer expectations and reducing burdensome checkout tasks.
