Bay Area families welcome cooler weather ahead of fall activities
After an unusually warm October with 90-degree days, cooler temperatures and rain are expected soon in the Bay Area.
Families in the Bay Area have been experiencing unseasonably warm weather this October, with temperatures reaching into the 90s, according to CBS News Bay Area. This warmth has delayed the usual fall feeling, as many residents have continued wearing summer clothes well into the month.
At a pumpkin patch in Livermore, families shared their surprise at the high temperatures, noting that fall festivals and seasonal activities typically coincide with cooler weather. One family mentioned that their children’s school fall festival usually prompts sweaters, but this year summer attire was still appropriate.
The forecast brings relief, as cooler weather and rain are expected over the next several days, which should bring back the traditional autumn atmosphere. Residents expressed anticipation for the seasonal shift, linking it to the start of the holiday season and more typical fall celebrations.
Younger residents also noted the unusual warmth, with one seventh grader remarking on the difference from previous years when temperatures were usually in the low 70s by this time. The upcoming cooler weather is welcomed, especially with Halloween approaching and outdoor activities planned, CBS News Bay Area reported.
