FOX40 reported that on Halloween night, more than 300 California Department of Corrections parole agents and local law enforcement partners conducted Operation Boo, one of the state's largest annual monitoring efforts targeting sex offenders.

This operation has been held for 33 years and involves law enforcement making rounds during Halloween to ensure compliance with parole conditions and community safety measures.

Unlike the typical Halloween activities of trick-or-treating, the officers were focused on monitoring rather than celebrating, aiming to protect the public during the holiday.

Operation Boo reflects a coordinated effort across California, including the Sacramento area, to maintain safety on a night when children are out in large numbers.
