Penn State secured a 31-17 win against Purdue, snapping a four-game losing streak, according to Yahoo Sports. The Nittany Lions showcased a more dynamic offense and a defense that limited Purdue's production significantly.

Running back Cam Wallace had a standout game, rushing for a career-high 135 yards and scoring a touchdown, Yahoo Sports reported. His 135 yards ranked as the fourth-best rushing performance for Penn State this season. Wallace averaged 6.1 yards per carry, including a 48-yard run, the longest play of the game.

In addition to Wallace, Carson Hansen and quarterback Rocco Becht contributed to the ground game with 96 and 27 rushing yards respectively, each scoring a rushing touchdown. This marked the second-highest rushing yard total for Penn State in a single game this season, a notable improvement after three games with under 68 rushing yards.

Defensively, Penn State held Purdue to 175 total yards, the third-fewest yards allowed by the Nittany Lions this season. Purdue, which averaged over 400 yards per game, was held to its lowest offensive output of the season. Penn State's defense was effective on third down, limiting Purdue to just 2-of-11 conversions, Yahoo Sports detailed.

The team also showed improved clock management, holding possession for over 43 minutes. Tight end Andrew Rappleyea stepped up in the passing game, tying for the most receptions on the team with four and catching the only passing touchdown for Penn State, as reported by Yahoo Sports.

While the victory brought positives, some inconsistencies remained, including defensive unevenness and errors that could have affected the outcome. Penn State's offensive adjustments and fresh players contributed to the win, offering hope for the remaining games of the season.

Looking ahead, Penn State aims to build on this win and maintain the momentum for the final four games of the regular season, with continued contributions from players like Wallace and Rappleyea.
