Charlotte launches new microtransit zone in west Charlotte
New on-demand transit service operates daily along West Boulevard, connecting key local destinations.
Charlotte transit officials have introduced a new microtransit zone in west Charlotte, offering on-demand transportation service daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., WFAE reported.
The service covers West Boulevard and connects riders to destinations including Charlotte Douglas International Airport, the Charlotte Regional Farmers Market, the South Charlotte VA Clinic, and the Blue Line’s Woodlawn Station.
CATS Interim CEO Brent Cagle highlighted that the new zone enhances transportation options and improves connectivity to jobs, grocery stores, and other transit routes such as the Blue Line and Route 5.
This expansion is part of the initial improvements funded by last year’s Mecklenburg County transit referendum and aligns with the CATS 2055 Transit System Plan.
