Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has continued his overhaul of the U.S. military by firing a top military strategist, Lt. Gen. Brett Sylvia, according to CBS News.

Sylvia, who was head of strategy, plans, and policy on the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was dismissed due to apparent misconduct involving classified information related to the Iran and Russia-Ukraine wars, a Pentagon official told CBS News.

Critics have raised concerns about Hegseth's aggressive approach to military leadership changes, describing it as dangerous.

The firing marks another significant personnel change in the Pentagon under Hegseth's tenure, reflecting ongoing tensions about information security and military strategy.
