Florida State Senator Angie Nixon, a Democratic Socialist, achieved an upset victory in her August primary election, according to ABC News.

Following her primary win, Nixon is now polling just four points behind her Republican opponent in the race for the Florida Senate seat.

This close polling suggests a competitive general election ahead as Nixon seeks to flip the seat from Republican to Democratic Socialist control.
