Fatal crash closes lanes on Hillsborough Avenue and Benjamin Road in Tampa

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that occurred on Hillsborough Avenue at Benjamin Road in Tampa early Friday morning, WFLA reported.
Troopers responded to the scene around 6 a.m. and confirmed the crash resulted in a fatality.
As a result, the northbound lanes of Benjamin Road at Hillsborough Avenue remain closed to traffic, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
Authorities have not released further details about the crash or the victim, and the investigation is ongoing.
Local drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternate routes until the lanes reopen.
