Fielded, the musical project of Lindsay Powell, has released a new album titled Some Kind of Animal, which mixes slinky R&B, neo-soul, and industrial funk, The Verge reported.

According to The Verge, Fielded began as an experimental noise project before evolving into a unique take on R&B that challenges traditional genre boundaries.

Their first album, Ninety-Thirty-Thirty, incorporated ’80s synth-pop influences and saxophone solos, while subsequent releases like Boy Angel and Demisexual Lovelace further explored electronic and hip-hop elements.

The Verge noted that Fielded’s work is characterized by restless experimentation and a refusal to conform to genre conventions, with the latest album continuing this trend.
