Ford recalls more than 102,000 F-Series pickups over faulty speedometer
Ford recalls certain 2025-2026 F-Series trucks due to speedometer defects that may cause inaccurate speed readings.
Ford Motor Company is recalling over 102,000 F-Series pickup trucks from model years 2025 and 2026 because of a defect affecting the vehicles' speedometers, FOX 35 Orlando reported.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) states the recall includes specific models such as the F-250 SD, F-350 SD, F-450 SD, F-550 SD, F-600, and 2026 F-150 and F-750 SD trucks. The issue involves the analog cluster's tachometer and speedometer, which may become stuck, move erratically, or display incorrect speeds, increasing the risk of a crash, according to fox13news.com.
The problem was identified in May during a review by Ford's Critical Concern Review Group, which found supplier process deficiencies caused the inaccurate readings. As of mid-September 2026, Ford reported 18 warranty claims and 93 field reports related to this defect, but no accidents, fires, or injuries have been reported, fox13news.com added.
Dealers will replace the faulty instrument clusters free of charge. Ford plans to notify owners with interim letters starting October 26, 2026, and expects a permanent fix to be available by the end of the year, according to fox13news.com.
This recall affects Orlando area residents who own the impacted Ford F-Series trucks. Owners should watch for notifications and contact their dealers to arrange repairs.
