Free fall events offer pumpkin patch, parade, and crafts in DC this weekend
Washington DC hosts free family-friendly fall activities including a pumpkin patch, parade, and cultural market on Oct. 24-25.
This weekend, Washington DC residents can enjoy several free fall-themed events suitable for families. On Saturday, the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library will hold a free fall festival featuring a pumpkin patch, festival train rides, a petting zoo, story time, live performances, and crafts. Registration is preferred but not mandatory, WTOP reported.
Also on Saturday, the 15th annual Little Goblins Parade will take place. Families will gather at Ross Elementary before walking along 17th Street for trick-or-treating at local businesses. The event continues at Stead Park with games, music, crafts, and snacks. Costumes are encouraged but not required.
Additionally, the DMV Asian Night Market will be held Saturday along the waterfront. While food and craft vendors charge for their goods, the event offers free live performances, music, and cultural entertainment for all to enjoy, according to WTOP.
On Sunday, a neighborhood celebration will offer an afternoon of autumn activities including kids’ crafts, inflatables, face painting, balloon art, and fire truck crafts. Local food vendors will be present with items available for purchase.
These events provide opportunities for DC families to celebrate the season without spending much, with many activities offered at no cost, WTOP noted.
