GOP Rep. Mike Turner of Ohio has called for a congressional investigation into disruptions affecting Starlink satellite communications in Ukraine, according to CBS News. Turner emphasized the urgency due to risks to lives and the importance of the technology for Ukraine's defense.

The satellite system, owned by SpaceX and used for communication and drone control, experienced slowdowns last week, causing difficulties for Ukrainian officials. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported that Ukraine was unable to use interceptor systems against Russian drones due to these speed restrictions.

President Trump stated he did not limit Ukraine's access to Starlink and did not believe Elon Musk was responsible. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that no U.S. government entity ordered the slowdown, which he described as something that "sort of happened" and noted the service has since been restored in some areas.

Senator Kevin Cramer, also a Republican, supported the call for a congressional investigation to determine the source of the slowdown. Turner highlighted that while Starlink service has been restored in some regions, other areas remain affected, underscoring the need for clarity on the issue.
