A man wanted on grand theft charges in California led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended at the San Ysidro port of entry as he attempted to flee to Mexico, Breitbart reported.

The chase involved deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and spanned several counties before concluding in San Diego. During the attempt to stop the suspect, shots were fired, prompting a temporary closure of the international crossings at the port of entry.

No injuries were reported, and the man was arrested after the incident. Videos on social media showed federal officers trying to stop the vehicle, which was driven into them.

After the scene was processed, U.S. Customs and Border Protection reopened the port of entry. The suspect was wounded, but authorities have not released details about his identity, nationality, or additional charges as the investigation continues under federal oversight.
