Baltimore County Police reported that on Halloween night, a homeowner on Greenside Drive in Cockeysville shot at three masked men who approached him, killing one and injuring two others. The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. when the men, one armed with a handgun, confronted the armed homeowner sitting outside his home.

Following the shooting, the three men fled the scene. Police later found a 20-year-old man deceased nearby, while the other two adults sought treatment at local hospitals for their injuries. An investigation is ongoing into the deadly confrontation.

Neighbors expressed growing concerns about safety in their typically quiet community. Some residents said the incident has unsettled them and questioned how safe they feel even outside their homes. One resident said people now feel the need to protect themselves more actively.

Others reflected on how the atmosphere in the area has changed over time, noting that past generations felt safer going out socially without fear. The recent violence has made some residents hesitant to enjoy public activities as they once did.

Baltimore County Police have not reported any further developments or additional suspects related to the shooting at this time.

The community continues to process the incident as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the deadly confrontation.
