KFF's Larry Levitt detailed proposals for Medicare-for-All in a JAMA Health Forum post, highlighting that the plan promises more generous benefits than the existing Medicare program, including no premiums or cost-sharing, according to KFF.

Levitt noted that despite these promises, Medicare-for-All might end up looking more like the current Medicare system if subjected to a serious national debate about the tradeoffs involved in its implementation, as reported by KFF.

This analysis is part of KFF's Health in the Midterms series, which provides policy research, polling, and news on election-related health care issues, aiming to inform public discussion.

KFF also conducts original public opinion and survey research on Americans' experiences with the health care system to amplify the public's voice in major national debates, according to the organization.
