Live Oak High School's football team secured a 24-7 victory over Willow Glen in a game played in San Jose, according to mercurynews.com.

Willow Glen focused on defending against Live Oak's strong running game during the week, and initially limited the Acorns' ground attack, holding them to 10-7 at halftime. The teams used contrasting offensive styles, with Willow Glen employing a spread offense and Live Oak running a power offense.

Live Oak scored first with a field goal, then took the lead just before halftime with a touchdown run by quarterback Justin Svoboda Jr. In the fourth quarter, Live Oak extended its lead with two more touchdowns, including another run by Svoboda Jr. that sealed the win.

Live Oak's coach Mike Gemo noted that the team responded well after a tough first half and that the win improves their record to 6-2 overall and 3-0 in their league division. The Acorns aim to continue improving as they prepare for upcoming rivalry games.

Willow Glen's coach Oscar Caballero was acknowledged for his team's effort, which challenged Live Oak especially in the first half, but ultimately Live Oak's running attack prevailed in the second half.
