Louisville quarterback Lincoln Kienholz led the team with 250 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one rushing touchdown. The team totaled 545 yards of offense, with a balanced 249 yards passing and 296 rushing yards.
Stanford briefly led twice in the second quarter and tied the score at 24 in the third quarter, but Louisville scored 28 unanswered points to pull away. Louisville's Isaac Brown rushed for 139 yards and scored a 75-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Stanford's quarterback Davis Warren threw for 270 yards and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard touchdown pass. However, the Cardinal fell to 0-4 in road games this season and have been outscored 150-17 in their previous three road games.
Stanford was without leading wide receiver Lawayne McCoy due to a knee injury that will keep him out for an extended time. McCoy had caught 25 passes for 513 yards and four touchdowns in the first seven games of the season.
