A 40-year-old man from St. Petersburg, Florida, allegedly robbed two banks while wearing a prosthetic "old man" mask, according to reports from 945rocks.iheart.com and other local sources.

The first robbery took place on August 24 at a bank in Largo. The man reportedly used a bicycle to approach the bank after parking his vehicle nearby, demanded money without dye packs, and escaped with $2,900. Surveillance footage showed him switching from the bicycle to a vehicle after the heist.

On September 15, he allegedly robbed a bank in St. Petersburg, escaping with $2,554. Investigators linked him to this crime through surveillance images and a vehicle traced back to his home. The getaway vehicle was reportedly the same one used in previous Texas robberies.

Authorities found a storage unit containing items used in the robberies, including the "old man" mask, glasses, and clothing. They also discovered a journal allegedly written by the man titled "God’s Best friend is a Bank Robber!"

The man has a criminal history that includes a 2018 conviction for five bank heists in Texas, where he used a similar disguise. He was sentenced to over 10 years in federal prison for those crimes. If convicted of the new charges, he faces up to 20 years in prison for each count.
