Moskowitz and Singer debate key issues in Boca Raton for Florida's 25th District

Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz and Republican former Boca Raton Mayor Scott Singer participated in a forum at Congregation B'nai Israel in Boca Raton as the race for Florida's 25th Congressional District nears Election Day, wflx.com reported. The district now includes parts of Miami-Dade County, expanding the voter base both candidates aim to reach.

The forum focused on issues important to South Florida voters such as U.S.-Israel relations, antisemitism, Cuba policy, homeowners insurance, housing costs, and border security, according to wflx.com. Both candidates expressed strong support for Israel and addressed foreign policy concerns relevant to the district.

Moskowitz highlighted his bipartisan work in Congress, emphasizing efforts to reduce healthcare expenses, improve housing affordability, and address rising homeowners insurance costs in Florida, wflx.com noted. He described himself as "the most pro-Israel Jewish Democrat in Congress."

Singer described the race as a turnout contest, noting the district's 5-point Republican advantage and urging Republicans to vote, CBS News Miami reported. He defended his campaign ads and advocated for stronger penalties against congressional and executive branch stock trading.

Voters attending the forum said the volume of negative campaign ads made it difficult to discern the truth, with one attendee expressing a desire to hear the candidates in person before deciding, CBS News Miami reported. Moskowitz did not speak with reporters after the forum, while Singer challenged him to a televised debate and mentioned another forum scheduled for the following week.
