Panthers beat Eagles 25-14 with J.J. Jansen setting NFL record
Carolina Panthers win their third game, while J.J. Jansen sets record for games played by a long snapper.
The Carolina Panthers secured a 25-14 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, marking their third win of the NFL season, WBTV and WFAE reported. The game took place in Philadelphia, where the Panthers overcame a challenging environment and a franchise-record 13 penalties totaling 149 yards.
Longtime Panthers player J.J. Jansen set an NFL record during the game by playing his 282nd career game as a long snapper, surpassing the previous record of 281 held by Trey Junkin, according to WBTV. This achievement also extended his record as the Panther with the most games played across all positions.
Jansen, now in his 18th NFL season, has been voted a team captain four times in 2026. Special teams coordinator Tracy Smith praised Jansen's leadership and durability, noting his commitment to supporting teammates and his seemingly endless career longevity.
Despite the penalties and some inconsistent play from quarterback Bryce Young, who threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, the Panthers managed to maintain control. Running back Chuba Hubbard contributed 120 rushing yards and a touchdown, while receivers Tetairoa McMillan and Jalen Coker combined for 183 yards on 12 catches.
Following the win, Panthers quarterback Bryce Young expressed pride in the team’s performance and emphasized the need to celebrate the victory before preparing for their next game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Bank of America Stadium, WFAE reported.
