Peter Frampton honored with Icon Award at Newport Beach Film Festival

The 2026 Newport Beach Film Festival opened with the documentary "Frampton," which explores the career of singer-guitarist Peter Frampton, according to ocregister.com.

Just before the screening, Frampton was presented with the Icon Award by Stone Temple Pilots' Dean and Robert DeLeo, who praised his musicianship and legacy.

The award ceremony included lighthearted moments referencing Frampton's 1976 album "Frampton Comes Alive!" and was attended by a large audience at the Big Newport Theatre.

Following the award, Frampton expressed his gratitude and acknowledged the significance of the honor, which has been previously given to notable figures in entertainment.

The festival also featured a red carpet event where director Rob Arthur and Frampton participated in a Q&A session after the film's screening, as reported by latimes.com.

The Newport Beach Film Festival, now in its 27th year, attracts a broad audience with over 350 films and continues through October 22.
