The Baltimore Banner reported several events in the capital region this weekend that may interest Baltimore area residents. Prince George’s County is hosting its first-ever Fashion Week at the Metro Points Hotel in New Carrollton, featuring competitions across 12 categories including bridal and ready-to-wear designs. The event is organized by Aisha Braveboy, recently elected as the county executive.

Alongside Fashion Week, Diwali celebrations are taking place, with the main day on Sunday and festivities spanning from Friday through Tuesday. These events provide cultural engagement opportunities for those in the Baltimore metropolitan area.

Other notable events in the region include a chocolate and coffee festival at Adventist HealthCare Fieldhouse in Boyds, with over 150 vendors offering samples and demonstrations. Additionally, the Jug Bay Run/Walk for Wildlife offers 3K, 5K, and 10K races to support local wildlife conservation.

While these events are centered in the greater capital region, they are accessible to Baltimore residents and contribute to the area's cultural and recreational offerings. Attending these events can provide community connection and entertainment over the weekend.
