Baltimore hosts Globe poster exhibit and diverse weekend events
MICA opens a Globe poster retrospective, plus local crafts and music events this weekend in Baltimore.
The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) is hosting a retrospective exhibit of Globe posters, a legendary Baltimore company known for vibrant, eye-catching designs used in various promotions. The exhibit opens Thursday at MICA's Pinkard Gallery located at The Bunting Center on West Mount Royal Avenue, Baltimore, according to The Baltimore Banner.
Alongside the exhibit, a documentary about Globe will be shown the following Wednesday, offering attendees a chance to purchase posters. These events celebrate Baltimore's rich artistic heritage and provide cultural activities for the community.
In addition to the art exhibit, Baltimore offers several weekend events including a crafts spectacular with over 375 crafters selling handmade goods, and music performances such as WesGhost at Metro Baltimore on Sunday evening. These events cater to diverse interests from art to music and shopping.
For those interested in political and historical discussions, a documentary titled “The Great Experiment” will be screened, followed by a conversation with the filmmaker. Additionally, a Profs and Pints event at Guilford Hall Brewery will explore ancient democracy, providing opportunities for community engagement and education.
