Three men sought after Toronto home invasion wounds family of real estate CEO
Toronto police search for three armed men who attacked a family in their mansion, leaving four hospitalized.
Toronto police are conducting a manhunt for three masked men who broke into a mansion belonging to a real estate CEO in the Bridle Path neighborhood early Thursday morning, CBS News reported.
The suspects entered through a back door around 3:40 a.m., armed with guns and a hammer. They confronted the CEO, his wife, and their two adult daughters on the second floor, demanding valuables, according to Toronto Police Service Inspector Kristy Smith.
During the encounter, the CEO and his daughters attempted to resist, resulting in all three sustaining gunshot wounds. The family members were also attacked with a hammer, as stated by the CEO in a separate statement.
The three men, believed to be in their twenties and dressed in dark clothing, fled the scene in an SUV. The CEO and two daughters remain hospitalized, though their conditions were not detailed.
Toronto police noted there have been 119 home invasions so far this year. The incident has raised concerns given the neighborhood's usual security measures.
