Ukraine has targeted several major Russian data centers with drone strikes, according to reports from the Daily Gazette, Post Register, and Bozeman Daily Chronicle.

The attacks hit three data centers belonging to the tech giant Yandex, as well as centers for Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, and the social media platform VKontakte, which is comparable to Facebook.

These strikes have caused widespread interruptions to cloud services, affecting banking, e-commerce, geolocation, and ride-hailing services across Russia.

The damage to these data centers is significant and could take a long time to repair, potentially derailing Russia's ambitious plans for artificial intelligence development and digital services.

The strikes are part of the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia, which has lasted over four years and continues to impact critical infrastructure.
