Naz Reid scores 20 points in Charlotte Hornets debut in 110-103 win over Nets
Naz Reid had 20 points and 11 rebounds as the Hornets beat the Brooklyn Nets 110-103 in their home game.
Naz Reid made a strong debut for the Charlotte Hornets, scoring 20 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the team's 110-103 victory over the Brooklyn Nets, WBTV reported.
Grayson Allen contributed 21 points off the bench, while Dennis Schroder added 19 points, scoring eight of those points in the fourth quarter, helping the Hornets maintain their lead despite missing key starters Coby White and Kon Knueppel due to injuries.
The Hornets acquired Reid in a trade that sent star point guard LaMelo Ball to Minnesota after last season, marking a significant roster change for Charlotte.
Brooklyn's Julius Randle scored 33 points in his debut for the Nets, and Michael Porter Jr. added 26 points, but the team fell short as none of the other starters reached double figures.
The Hornets held a 10-point lead entering the final period, and despite the Nets narrowing the gap, key plays by Schroder and Allen helped Charlotte secure the win.
This victory comes as the Hornets aim to improve after missing the Eastern Conference play-in tournament last season, showing promise with their new lineup.
