Wake schools to release revised student reassignment plan Tuesday
Wake County families can share feedback on the updated school reassignment plan at Tuesday's school board meeting.
Wake County Public School System officials will present a revised version of their proposed student reassignment plan on Tuesday, according to WRAL.
The plan aims to address overcrowding in some schools, reduce the use of trailer classrooms, and keep more students together as they transition to middle and high school, a district official said in a news conference reported by WRAL.
A significant change in the plan involves filling ninth and tenth grade seats at the new Morrisville High School, which is expected to impact student distribution.
The original proposal, released on September 3, includes 21 reassignment proposals affecting 26 schools where students would be moved out and 24 schools where students would be moved in, for the 2027-28 school year.
Wake County families will have the opportunity to provide input directly to the school board during a public hearing scheduled for Tuesday night, shortly after the revised plan is released.
