49ers to host Raiders in Bay Area regular-season game at Levi's Stadium
The Raiders play their first Bay Area regular-season game since relocating to Las Vegas in 2020, facing the 49ers at Levi's Stadium.
The San Francisco 49ers will face the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, marking the Raiders' first regular-season game in the Bay Area since their 2020 move to Las Vegas, the SF Standard reported.
The Raiders previously called Oakland home from 1960 to 1981 and again from 1995 to 2019 before relocating, a move that disappointed many local fans who have remained loyal to the Raiders rather than switching to the 49ers.
The Raiders have started the season 4-3 under veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins, who has thrown 19 touchdown passes and five interceptions. Cousins' first NFL offensive coordinator was 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan, adding an interesting dynamic to the matchup.
The 49ers have won their last four games coming off a bye week and have historically performed well after rest, with Brock Purdy expected to have key receivers back for the game.
DeForest Buckner, a star defensive tackle recently brought back to Santa Clara by 49ers GM John Lynch, is expected to start for the 49ers, adding strength to their defense.
