7th annual VetFest and Veterans Day Parade set for Sunday at Liberty Station
San Diego volunteers will gather Sunday for a food drive and parade supporting military families facing food insecurity.
The 7th annual VetFest and Veterans Day Parade will take place Sunday at NTC Park inside Liberty Station in San Diego, FOX 5 San Diego reported. The event combines a food drive and a parade to support military families experiencing food insecurity.
Organizers, including the International Military Bible Academy and the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank, aim to collect 25,000 pounds of food, hoping to break the food bank’s record for the largest single-day donation, according to FOX 5 San Diego.
The food drive will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with the parade occurring in the morning followed by a celebration at American Legion Post 149. Hundreds of local volunteers are expected to participate in the event.
The event was formerly known as the Escondido VetFest before rebranding to reflect its broader San Diego area focus, FOX 5 San Diego noted.
Community members are encouraged to join the effort to support military families in need during this patriotic event.
