A 90-year-old Holocaust survivor, Eva Geller, has died almost a year after being wounded in the Sydney Hanukkah massacre, officials reported, according to abcnews.com and wjcl.com.

Geller was among approximately 40 people injured when two gunmen opened fire at a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach in December 2025, killing 15 victims aged 10 to 87, abcnews.com detailed.

She had been hospitalized multiple times in recent weeks due to complications from surgery, and had been told she would never walk again after being shot, but regained mobility through determination, abcnews.com stated.

The surviving alleged gunman, Naveed Akram, faces multiple charges including murder and terrorism; authorities are awaiting a coroner's advice on whether Geller's death will affect these charges, abcnews.com reported.

Officials continue to investigate the circumstances of her death as the case proceeds, wjcl.com and abcnews.com noted.
