The Ohio High School Athletic Association football postseason continued Friday, Nov. 6, with regional quarterfinal games across the state, according to Yahoo Sports.

All remaining teams competed as the top-four seeds in each region played their first playoff games this week. Games were held at the site of the higher seed through the regional finals.

Several notable matchups included No. 4 vs. No. 5 seed games such as Troy at Lima Senior in Division II, Region 8, and Urbana at North College Hill in Division IV, Region 16. Additionally, No. 7 Valley View faced No. 2 London in Region 16, with those programs having combined for six regional titles in recent seasons.

In Division V, Region 20, No. 6 Fenwick played at No. 3 Miami East in a game described as one of the most intriguing of the weekend. Another close contest was No. 6 Mechanicsburg at No. 3 Chillicothe Zane Trace in Region 24.

This marks the second year of the 12-team playoff format, where top-four seeds receive byes into the quarterfinal round. Higher seeds are generally favored against lower seeds, though the impact of a week off before the quarterfinals is a factor under consideration.
