The Cincinnati Bearcats basketball team secured an 81-64 victory over Green Bay, improving their record to 2-0, Yahoo Sports reported. The game took place on November 5, with Cincinnati overcoming some challenges to pull away in the second half.

Myles Colvin led the Bearcats with 31 points, tying his personal best by making seven three-pointers. Without his strong perimeter shooting, Cincinnati would have struggled, as the rest of the team combined for only three made three-pointers on 19 attempts.

Amani Lyles contributed 14 points, while MJ Collins and Erik Mahaffey each added 11 points. The Bearcats outrebounded Green Bay 30-25 and forced 21 turnovers during the game. Green Bay's top scorer was Orlando Lovejoy with 16 points.

Green Bay, formerly known as Wisconsin-Green Bay, stayed close in the first half and even led 20-19 early on. Cincinnati fought back to lead 40-32 at halftime and gradually extended the lead in the second half, at one point leading by 21 points before a scoring drought.

Looking ahead, Cincinnati faces a Big Ten opponent, Minnesota, in their next game. The Bearcats showed some growing pains but also key strengths that could be important in their upcoming challenge.

Colvin had been limited to three points in the previous game but worked on his shooting afterward, which paid off in this game. Mahaffey also contributed with efficient shooting and strong defense early in the game, Yahoo Sports noted.
