No. 5 Michigan defeated No. 2 UConn 77-66 in a historic women's college basketball game at the Crisler Center, marking the first top-five matchup held there. This victory is considered the biggest win in Michigan women's basketball history, according to Yahoo Sports.

Junior guard Te'Yala Delfosse led Michigan with a career-high 22 points, shooting 4-for-6 on three-pointers, and added nine rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block. Olivia Olson contributed 19 points and eight rebounds, while Syla Swords scored 10 points.

The game was closely contested, with UConn leading 21-17 after the first quarter and Michigan taking a 35-29 halftime lead. UConn regained the lead early in the third quarter, but Michigan responded to take control in the fourth quarter with back-to-back three-pointers from Delfosse.

UConn's freshman guard Jovana Popović led all scorers with 25 points. Michigan's head coach Kim Barnes Arico, in her 15th season, has seen the program reach new heights, with last season's Elite Eight appearance and record wins.

This win boosts Michigan's confidence and strengthens their resume as they aim for a potential Final Four run in April, continuing the progress built by the current junior class since they arrived three years ago.
