ACF proposes updates to reduce bureaucracy in block grants and child support programs
The Administration for Children and Families aims to modernize regulations to ease state and tribal administrative burdens.
The Administration for Children and Families (ACF) has proposed amendments to its block grant regulations intended to modernize requirements and reduce administrative burdens on States and Tribal grantees, according to the Federal Register.
The proposed changes aim to improve clarity and efficiency in program administration by removing outdated provisions and procedural requirements that no longer align with current statutory authority or agency practices.
In addition, a final rule has been issued to amend Child Support Enforcement regulations, targeting sections deemed unnecessary or obsolete, including State Plan Approval, Program Operations standards, Financial Participation, and Tribal Child Support Enforcement programs.
These updates are designed to streamline grantee obligations, eliminate redundant requirements, and align regulations with current law and policy, enhancing the administration of these federal programs.
The changes reflect an ongoing effort to reduce bureaucracy and improve the effectiveness of federal assistance programs for states and tribal entities.
