Anduril, a defense technology company, is partnering with semiconductor firm Qualcomm to develop the BlueChip line of laptops, Manufacturing Dive reported.

The laptops will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X Series processors, which provide core computing functions including processing, graphics, and on-device AI, according to the release.

BlueChip laptops are designed to meet the needs of critical U.S. industries such as government, defense, first responders, and public safety, with a focus on sustained performance in demanding conditions, Anduril's website states.

Qualcomm is supplying early access to its Snapdragon X Series chips along with reference-design documentation and technical support to aid Anduril's development of the BlueChip product line.

Production will take place at Anduril's Arsenal-1 facility in Ohio, with plans to reshore the supply chain by increasing domestic sourcing and manufacturing to reduce reliance on foreign suppliers.

The BlueChip project has been fully funded by both Anduril and Qualcomm, though the companies have not disclosed the investment amount.

Anduril is also developing domestic capabilities for manufacturing enclosures, battery components, and other hardware elements as part of the production process.
