AT&T’s Connected Life smart home security system now supports integration with Gemini for Home, enabling new AI-powered features, The Verge reported.

With this update, users can receive detailed descriptions of events captured by security cameras, such as identifying package deliveries and the number of items dropped off.

The system also allows natural language video searches, including questions like “What dug up the yard last night?” or “Who let the dogs out?” and provides daily summaries of home activity.

These AI features are available exclusively to customers subscribed to AT&T’s professional Connected Life monitoring plan, which costs $29.99 per month.

Additionally, the system can automatically arm or disarm the home based on the user’s proximity, enhancing convenience and security.

AT&T launched the Connected Life system last December in partnership with Google and Abode, and now leverages Google’s Gemini-powered Home APIs to enable these AI capabilities.

Other security providers, such as ADT, have indicated plans to incorporate Gemini for Home features into their products in the future.
