Audi to build $4B plant in middle Georgia, creating 4,500 jobs
Audi will open its first U.S. manufacturing plant in middle Georgia, investing $4 billion and creating about 4,500 jobs.
Audi AG, the German luxury automaker, announced plans to build its first U.S. manufacturing facility in middle Georgia, according to Atlanta News First and FOX 5 Atlanta. The $4 billion investment will be located at the Middle Georgia Megasite, a joint development area involving Peach, Houston, and Macon-Bibb counties.
The plant will produce premium SUVs tailored for North American customers, with an expected annual output of 200,000 vehicles. Site grading is expected to begin in 2027, construction in 2028, and full production by 2031, as reported by both outlets.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp expressed pride that Audi selected Georgia for its first U.S. plant, highlighting the historic nature of the investment and job creation in middle Georgia. The location benefits from infrastructure improvements and proximity to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, about 90 minutes north.
To support workforce needs, Georgia Quick Start will collaborate with the Technical College System of Georgia to develop customized training programs and a dedicated training center for assembly, maintenance, and advanced manufacturing roles, according to FOX 5 Atlanta.
President Donald Trump previewed the announcement ahead of a rally in Perry, near the plant site, emphasizing the job creation and economic benefits the new facility will bring to the region, as reported by Atlanta News First.
