Bayside Council is hosting a free community event at Sir Joseph Banks Park on November 7 at 10 a.m. to celebrate the completion of upgrades to the car park and amenities building, miragenews.com reported.

The upgrades include modern public amenities such as six toilets, an accessible toilet, a unisex family toilet, and an open wash basin, aimed at providing greater comfort and convenience for park visitors.

The car park has been improved to increase parking capacity, enhance accessibility, and address flood-related issues, making it easier for more people to access the park.

Sir Joseph Banks Park is described as a treasured open space that brings together families, friends, and visitors to enjoy outdoor activities and connect with nature.

The council emphasized that their investments go beyond infrastructure, focusing on creating welcoming and inclusive spaces for people of all ages and abilities to connect with their community.

The event will feature live music, face painting, mini cupcakes, a coffee van, and a visit from the Dragon Mobile Zoo, inviting everyone to explore the new facilities and celebrate this milestone.
