The Tampa Bay Buccaneers ran for a team-record 324 yards in a 16-0 victory over the Atlanta Falcons at Raymond James Stadium, according to WUSF. The game was played mostly in heavy rain, which influenced the Bucs' strategy to focus on rushing rather than passing.

Bucky Irving led the ground attack with a career-best 170 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries, while Kenny Gainwell added 140 yards on 25 carries. Quarterback Baker Mayfield did not complete a pass, going 0-for-3, but handed off the ball 52 times in his second game back after a thumb injury.

The Bucs' defense intercepted Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. four times, limiting Atlanta to just 125 passing yards and holding running back Bijan Robinson to 76 yards on 19 carries. Penix, a Tampa Bay Tech High graduate, struggled in his first game back in Tampa Bay.

Tampa Bay coach Todd Bowles noted the weather conditions dictated a run-heavy game plan for both teams. Mayfield contributed by scrambling and playing physically despite not passing, emphasizing his commitment to winning.

With the win, the Bucs improved to 3-5, winning three of their last four games and staying close in the NFC South standings behind Carolina. Kicker Chase McLaughlin remained perfect on field goals this season, converting all 19 attempts.

The game showcased Tampa Bay's ability to adapt to adverse weather and rely on a strong ground game and defense to secure a shutout victory at home.
