The Florida Highway Patrol reported that a 23-year-old man was driving under the influence when he crashed his Ford F-150 into a guardrail on State Road 417 in Orlando around 3:30 a.m. Sunday. The initial crash triggered a chain reaction involving multiple other vehicles.

Troopers said a bystander informed them the driver had been involved in a physical altercation. Upon arrival, officers saw the man’s father holding him down because he was acting irrationally and uncontrollably.

The driver resisted arrest but was eventually handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. Troopers observed signs of intoxication and arrested him after he refused to continue speaking with them.

Tests showed the driver had blood alcohol content levels of .205 and .201. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation, then booked into the Orange County Jail. He faces DUI charges with property damage or personal injury and is held on a $1,000 bond.
