The federal government announced a $233.6 million investment in rural health across California five days before the midterm election, according to Palo Alto Online.

However, state officials clarified that California has not received any new funding from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the source of the announced investment.

State officials say the announced investment does not represent new money for rural health in California at this time.
